Why is there a nomination process?
We want your community to be personally connected and invested in the success of local artists and artisans. There’s something special about being nominated; someone believes in you and your work.

I want people to go to my current website.
Showcase Seattle uses the power of collective selling to bring new audiences to your work. You can of course keep your current website and Showcase Seattle can be another arm of distribution so more people can find you. Cross-linking between your website and your Showcase Seattle storefront helps drive more traffic to you and allows you to have an easy platform to sell your work as well.

Isn’t Showcase Seattle just another Etsy?
Etsy is about products. Showcase Seattle is about people. We put together a comprehensive marketing campaign and a showcase platform to help you establish a consistent personal brand that resonates online and offline.

Will I lose my existing audience when I come onto the Showcase Seattle platform?
No, you will not lose your existing audience by collaborating with us and using our platform. We are here as another point of contact and distributing arm for more audiences to discover you.

Won’t I be just one face among many in the marketplace?
Showcase Seattle uses marketplace technology to showcase local artists in a visually exciting way and attract customers to explore the people behind the work. Once your audience visits your online presence/storefront, it’s all about you, your work, and your brand.

I have a lot of accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google +. I’ll go crazy if there’s one more online place to update.
Your storefront can be set up to automatically update all your social media presences and channels from one place. We want to make it as easy as possible to keep your online world up-to-date, so that you have more time to do what you’re best at doing — creating.

I already have a busy schedule with gallery showings, festivals, and/or setting up a brick-and-mortar store. I don’t have time to do online things.
We are here to enhance your offline presence with a holistic online presence. With your online storefront your fans can engage with you even after the galleries and festivals close their doors.  Our platform can serve to announce any gallery showings, festival appearances, or tour dates you may have. With your personalized marketing campaign, we can help you create well-timed announcements and PR releases.

I want to sell my art to collectors  at a higher price-point. They’re not going to be willing to buy a piece online.
Selling to collectors is more a matter of building relationships for the long term. Collectors will often linger around an artist’s work for a longer period of time before actually making a purchase. You can build that long-term relationship by using Showcase Seattle to consistently showcase your work and keep your audience updated with information on new work or gallery showings via timely email campaigns, press releases, and social media messages.

My art is more installation, video, film or service-based. I don’t have products to sell necessarily. How can Showcase Seattle work for me?
For installation, video, and music artists, Showcase Seattle can act as more of a distributing/marketing arm to allow more people to see what you do. You can use Showcase Seattle to keep your audience updated with information on new albums, screenings, shows, gallery openings, etc… We could market you as a person and an artist and help you establish an online presence where people can find you and explore all your work.
